If you haven’t been watching NBC’s newest drama, Saving Hope, you need to Hulu that noise ASAP!. Seriously. Saving Hope is the drama that hurts so good.

It the previous episode Dawn, Charlie’s ex-wife, showed up with the breaking news that she wanted to take Alex to court over the rights to Charlie’s medical care. Saying I was “unhappy” about this would have been a mild understatement.

Watching Alex deal with having lost what little control she still had over her situation was ridiculously heartbreaking.

However, by the end of the episode, I found myself sympathizing with both women, which is too bad; it would have been so much easier to hate Dawn. Although it wasn’t really fair to tell Alex that she was still in love with Charlie, you couldn’t help but feel her pain.

And then there’s this guy. Right from the get go, I found it hard to watch Officer Creepy. I mean, challenging a doctor to a “whose seen the most gruesome thing on the job” showdown is NOT okay behavior.

At first I just thought he was just crazy- which really made me feel awkward. At one point I even wondered if he was the one who killed the prison inmate, in order to do a fella a solid, by providing a donor heart. Then I thought he was just high and reacting to his drug use. Either way, I felt really uncomfortable with his storyline. And by the looks of things, I was not alone.

When it was revealed the Officer Creepy was struggling with the aftermath of an on-the-job shooting, I wasn’t sure if that made things better or worse. At least I could come to terms with the fact that he wasn’t a bad guy, but a guy who had just witnessed too many bad things. I don’t know. It was all really depressing and witnessing his suicide left poor Joel out of sorts.

At this point I just wanted to crawl into the screen and comfort them both because, as much as they needed it, they weren’t going to reach out to one another.

And then, just when I thought I couldn’t take it anymore, the time came to turn off Charlie’s machines. I’m not sure what was worst part of this episode: hearts breaking across the board, or the fact that we have to wait until after the Olympics to see what happens next? What I do know, is Erica Durance should invest in some Visine because I don’t see things sorting themselves out for Dr. Reid any time soon.

What I’ll be wondering¬†about for the next couple of weeks:

1. What will happen to Charlie now that the machines are done?

2. Will Alex forgive Dawn?

3. Will Joel decide he needs more from Maggie than just fun?

Well, enough of my yammerin’. What are your thoughts this week?
